I had been here before a few years ago and have been wanting to come back. I'm so glad it was for a special occasion! We went for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. Service was excellent, long wait even with reservation but made up for with excellent rosemary focaccia bread.
The dark mood made it for a perfect family birthday dinner!
I had the prime rib and it was a big 18oz piece served with the bone. It was cooked perfectly to medium and melted in your mouth. I had it with mash potatoes and creamed corn. The creamed corn is perfectly balanced, I could live off of it.
I also tried the burger which was fantastic even cooked well done. At our table we tried the Hawaiian ribeye, salmon and rotisserie chicken and everyone was absolutely more than pleased. The salmon serving is the smallest serving we saw but it perfect.
The margarita and lemon drop is to die for as well. -

My hubby and I decided to try some "hangout" places near our new place, so we went to Houston' for lunch yesterday. We sat at the bar and had a few glasses of wine- my hubby had a bottle of red-, lunch and some scotch at the end of the meal. Anyone who goes out to dine with me knows that I get jovial and I like to buy ppl drinks and talk to them which is the only time my "talkative alter-ego" comes out. Since we were at the bar, we met some new ppl, and I bought a few ppl drinks and we were having the greatest time
One of the management comes up to me- NOT to my hubby-, and said I was over-served and cut off..., remind you I did not even have 50% of what my hubby drank and certainly was not over served as she said..., I was baffled but I thought I prob do not need to drink too much any way, so I obliged. About 30 mins later, the same lady comes up to me- again, NOT to my hubby- told me I was too loud and would like me to quiet down..., Wowww, at this point, I did not understand what was happening..., my hubby and I were both talking to ppl and just being happy..., perhaps I laughed too loud, perhaps I was too gregarious and generous with other patrons and the Bartenders; I am sure not too many ppl tip 100%...., Later, I am offered a reason that perhaps the manager did not realize my hubby and I were together..., Huhhh?????????? We were sitting together and in conversations and held our hands; so does that make sense???
When I first walked into the restaurant, I noticed the demographics of the patrons were 99.9% Caucasians; there were literally 2 African American couples and I was the only Asian in the place and the resto was packed and had a wait list of 45 mins. I truly hate to throw a race card, but for the life of me, I cannot understand why I was being targeted. Even my hubby could not understand why the manager singled me out. We loved the food and loved the bartenders and wanted to make it our regular go-to place, but perhaps either some patrons or the management did not like the fact I did not have blond hair and blue eyes??????? I am so perplexed....
BTW, we had the smoked salmon, Hawaiian Ribeye, Tuna salad, their bread service and their side of broccoli which were all excellent exept for the Tuna salad..., tuna had no flavor to it and tasted as though it had been frozen and thawed out. -

I got the campfire barbecue pork ribs. They were fire!! I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Great Hawaiian rib eye steak. Had a really flavorful char on it and it was cooked to a perfect medium. Definitely order it! Creamed corn was lighter and had a nice jalapeño addition. I appreciated that it didn't have heavy cream added to it.
House salad was very fresh and had sweet and savory corn bread croutons. The buttermilk garlic dressing really made the salad.
Spinach artichoke dip with salsa was a good starter. Artichoke had a lot of depth of flavor with lots of cheese and salsa paired well with it.
